Anniversary Party & Collecting Donations for Our Troops

This weekend Marie Haggin Accessories is celebrating its 5th anniversary in business. From 5 to 7 p.m., we will have some fantastic giveaways – including a $100 Marie Haggin gift certificate – cake, wine or champagne and a great offer. If you shop between 5 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, you may take 15% off your ENTIRE PURCHASE.

Throughout the weekend, we will also be accepting donations for items to send to the troops overseas. Katherine, our manager at Marie Haggin Accessories, has a husband stationed in Afghanistan, and we want to support him and his fellow soldiers with a few treats from home. If you’d like to drop off a nonperishable item to send, please bring it to Marie Haggin at Kent Station by 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 6. This care package will be sent in time for the holidays.

· Sports items: baseball caps, baseballs, footballs, soccer balls, etc. (for the soldiers and/or gifts for Iraqi or Afghani children)
· Personal hygiene items: handi-wipes or baby wipes, deodorant, shower gel, razors, etc.
· Magazines
· DVDs
· Batteries (AAA, AA and D)
· Powdered drink mixes like Gatorade, Crystal Light or Propel
· Snacks: beef jerky, cheez-its, chips, pretzels, candy, gum, etc.
· Pens, notebooks, and envelopes
· Long distance phone cards or calling cards

If you can’t make this deadline, consider donating another time. If there is enough interest, we’ll send care packages in the future.

Thanks so much to everyone who attended our Pink Pearl Extravaganza this weekend. The fundraiser for the Breast Cancer 3-Day benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure was a huge success. We have about a dozen or so pairs of pink pearl drop earrings left (1 pair for $20, or 3 for $50). Once those are sold, we will have reached our goal of $1,000. Thanks so much for your support and generosity!
